We believe that supporting the entire family is critical to an individual’s success.
When we alleviate stress for one family member, the entire family benefits. Our team has developed connections within the community that help stabilize families and better prepare them for the immigration process.
With connections to over 100 community organizations across the entire state of Nebraska and our three-tiered service model, our social work team plays a vital role in enhancing family stability, helping them navigate the immigration process and thrive in their new communities.
At CIRA, our social workers are dedicated to providing comprehensive support beyond legal assistance, ensuring the well-being of our most vulnerable clients through a three-tiered model of service.
Our team is composed of professionals with firsthand experience as immigrants or children of immigrants. All services are delivered in Spanish and we use qualified interpreters if another language is needed.
We begin by assisting families with essential needs such as housing, food, benefits registration, and transportation. Additionally, we connect them with family counseling services to foster stability.
For those requiring additional support, our team offers classes on important topics like stress management and parenting skills, empowering families to cope with everyday challenges.
At the highest level of support, our clinical social workers provide individualized therapy and trauma-informed care to address unique personal needs.
Many of the unaccompanied children we serve have experienced trauma, which makes it difficult for them to communicate their case accurately.
That’s why we take a comprehensive approach for caring for vulnerable, immigrant children, ensuring that every child receives the right care from the very first meeting.
Our legal team and social workers work together to simultaneously meet clients’ needs and maximize their chances of success.
We also offer these services to immigrant victims of crime, domestic/sexual assault, and human trafficking.
By combining social work services with legal services, our clients feel less fear about reporting violence and crime. This collaboration leads to better cooperation with law enforcement agencies and provides immigrant survivors with long-term security.
To empower immigrants and refugees to live confidently through high-quality legal representation, resettlement, and social work and to create welcoming communities through education and advocacy.
