CIRA offers a confidential intake hotline for low-income individuals currently detained by Immigration and Custom’s Enforcement (ICE).
If you or a loved one are in ICE custody in Nebraska or Southwest Iowa, you can contact our Detainee Assistance Hotline to be screened for eligibility to have an immigration bond set and possible defenses against removal.
Or, you can also download and complete the Detainee Intake Form and return it to us by email or mail. If a screening suggests that someone may qualify for bond, CIRA will attempt to connect them with a volunteer attorney for free (pro bono) representation in their bond case.
Please note:
Our confidential intake hotline is for low-income individuals currently detained by Immigration and Custom’s Enforcement (ICE) in Nebraska or Southwest Iowa. Our access specialists answering the hotline are bilingual in English and Spanish and have access to interpreters in over 240+ languages through Language Line Solutions.
Please be aware of scams. All of our services are provided for free. We will never ask you to send money in exchange for legal services.
Please leave a voicemail during office hours, and we will return your call.
To begin the screening process yourself, fill out the form linked below at any time and email or mail us a completed form. We recommend this option to begin screening if the hotline hours do not work with your schedule.
After you have completed all pages and signed the form, please email the completed form to detaineeintake@ciraconnect.org or mail it to the following address:
CIRA – Detainee Intake
4223 Center Street
Omaha, NE 68105
If you complete the detainee intake form yourself and email it to us, there is no need to call the Detainee Hotline. We will review your form as soon as possible, in the order it was received.
